It's weird, I sort of aggressively hate his movies (I just watched Jersey Girl and found it to be cloying and boring in an agro-chummy sort of way), but I sampled the blog because I am EW's bitch, and found it addictive. His writing has a very talky, open, and genial tone -- which I think translates into stilted and awkward dialogue, but makes for good reading when it's about his wife, kid, houseguests, lunch plans, etc.
